Prepare for a Messy Evening Connecticut Commute
State Police responded to well over 100 accidents Tuesday, with some major pile-ups.

It’s best to heed the advice of State Police on the way home from work Tuesday as the snow storm continues to pose dangerous conditions.
State troopers responded to about 114 accidents between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Police advise motorists to assess the need for travel and to take it slow on the roads as snow continues to pile up leading to the evening commute. Meteorologists predict that heavy snow will let up around 5 or 6:30 p.m. in most of the state.

A crash that involved many vehicles closed I-91 northbound in North Haven for hours Tuesday afternoon. A single vehicle later went over the wire rope guide rails in another part of the highway and closed a lane.

Smaller state roads weren’t spared either. New Britain Avenue in West Hartford will be closed throughout rush hour and likely into the later evening hours after a vehicle severed a utility pole.
