Rain Postpones Greenwich Wiffle Ball Tournament
The tournament with 60 teams is rescheduled for next weekend.

Thunderstorms and drenching rains has forced the postponement of the eighth annual Greenwich Wiffle Ball Tournament.
The tournament that has about 60 teams registered has been rescheduled from Saturday to next Saturday, July 25 with a rain date of Sunday, July 26, according to Greenwich Police James Heavey.

On their Facebook page, Wiffle Ball organizers wrote: “Unfortunately, we did not anticipate as much rain, thunder, and lightening as we encountered and therefore to ensure the integrity of the fields as well as your safety, we had to call the event today.”
The event, which will benefit the Silver Shield Association, the Greenwich Police union, will be held at the Greenwich Polo Club on North Street. Play begins at 8 a.m. and continues until there is one winning team.
