Republican Board Of Education Incumbent Peter Bernstein Launches Petition Candidacy

The one-term member was not endorsed by the party.

GREENWICH, CT — Peter Bernstein, an incumbent member of the Greenwich Board of Education, is launching a petition drive to run for a second term, after not receiving the Republican nomination this week, reports the Greenwich Free Press.

He needs 637 signatures to work his way onto the ballot in November's election, a number that represents 5 percent of the town's 12,715 registered Republicans. The petition has to be turned in by Aug. 9.

To garner enough signatures, Bernstein has already hit the downtown Greenwich train station and plans on shaking hands at Tod's Point, and the town's other three train stations, among other locations.
