Residents Unable To Access Greenwich Train Station Elevator, Town Issues Update
The town has received calls from residents who say they're unable to access the elevator on the New York-bound platform.
GREENWICH, CT — While work on the new elevator at the renovated Greenwich Train Station was finished a month ago, the lift remains out of service. But that could change over the next month.
In his weekly newsletter to the community on Friday, First Selectman Fred Camillo said the town has received calls from residents unable to access the elevator on the New York-bound platform.
According to an update posted by The Ashforth Company, the owner of the station, officials are waiting for final state inspection and certification before the elevator can be placed into service.

"We anticipate this process being completed in June, though the inspection process is not in our control. The MTA platform elevators remain fully operational and accessible from both sides of the pedestrian bridge," Ashforth says on its website.
"We sincerely appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work to bring the elevator into service as quickly and safely as possible."
