Restroom Improvements Planned At Greenwich Point Marina
The Board of Selectmen are planning to tour the site next week.

GREENWICH, CT — The restrooms in the Chimes Building at Greenwich Point Marina are slated for upgrades under an improvement project being considered by the Board of Selectmen and the Department of Public Works.
Currently, there are five restroom facilities that serve Greenwich Point: Old Barn, South Concession, Number 6, Chimes Building and Clambake, but Chimes is the only one slated for work under this project though all restroom facilities are expected to receive upgrades, reports the Greenwich Time.
The improvements are needed because, among other issues, the Chimes restroom facility is not compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Additionally, and the restrooms are heavily utilized by the attendees of the sailing school, the yacht club and Cow Barn events, among other uses, according to officials.

However, because the building is in a flood zone, the improvement project calls for the construction of a standalone, 1,386 square foot restroom facility at the site, which would have an upgraded septic system.
By moving the restroom out of the Chimes Building, that structure can more easily be restored by the Greenwich Point Conservancy; the building, like others along the Fairfield County coastline, suffered damage in Hurricane Sandy a few years ago.
