Possible Human Remains Found In Greenwich

The remains were found in a park, and police are busy investigating.

GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating after what appears to be human remains were found in the southwest area of Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park. The remains were found Tuesday around 9:12 a.m. while town park employees were clearing debris from a wooded section.

Police responded to the scene and closed off the area, police said. A member of the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and preliminarily determined the remains are of human origin. To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.

The death doesn't appear to be recent, police said.

Harding Road at Laddins Rock Road remains closed.

Police are conducting a death investigation, and detectives are actively investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 1-800-372-1176 or email tips@greenwichct.org.
