Thousands are still without power and roads in town are still blocked nearly a week after Tropical Storm Isaias' path through Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — More than 20 roads in town are still completely blocked and thousands are still without power nearly a week after Tropical Storm Isaias' path through Greenwich on Tuesday, according to police.
In an update provided Monday morning, police said 27 roads are completely blocked and 63 are partially open as of 9:15 a.m. Additionally, 25 roads are open but with a large amount of tree debris or downed wires along the shoulder, police said. "The [town] Emergency Operations Center would like to remind residents many wires are still hidden under branches and other debris," police said in a statement. "All wires need to be treated as live. Keep away from any wire on the ground. Electrocution can occur with a downed power line, or with the earth near a downed power line."
According to the Eversource's outage map, a little over 2,400 Greenwich residents are still without power as of 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said the town made "good progress" in clearing roadways, removing trees and restoring power over the weekend, and the Emergency Operations Center's top priority is total restoration of power to residents.
"The town government continues to advocate with Eversource and the other utility companies for the resources to address our issues," police said. "The town of Greenwich will continue this week to emphasize the restoration of crucial services to our residents and businesses and seek a return to normalcy as soon as possible."
In addition to the Public Safety Complex's atrium, the town has opened a second cooling and charging station at the Greenwich Senior Center, located at 299 Greenwich Avenue. The new station will be open Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents are asked to wear a face mask and maintain proper social distancing while using the facility. There will not be any food service or restroom facilities available at the center.
Police have also been performing welfare checks at various locations throughout town. Anyone who needs Greenwich police to check on an elderly or vulnerable resident is asked to call 203-622-8004.
"Please continue to check on your elderly relatives and neighbors to be sure they are doing well during this outage," police said.
Non-potable water is available at the following fire stations for residents who need it to flush toilets:
- Round Hill Fire House (166 Old Mill Road) – Hose is located on the parking lot side of the building.
- Banksville Fire House (33 Bedford- Banksville Road, Banksville, N.Y.) - Hose is located in the rear by the back door.
- North Street Fire House (669 North Street) - Hose in front of the building.
- Glenville Fire House (266 Glenville Road) - Hose is located on the front ramp.
- Cos Cob Fire House (200 East Putnam Avenue) - Hose is located to the rear.
The water is self-service and residents are asked to bring their own containers.
The damage caused by the storm last week was deemed significant enough that First Selectman Fred Camillo declared a local state of emergency Tuesday evening as the town worked to clear hazards from the town's roads.
Police said last week all outages should be reported directly to Eversource at eversource.com, or by calling 800-286-2000. If a traffic signal is out, residents are asked to treat them as stop signs and proceed with caution, and service will be restored to them as quickly as possible, according to police.
Blocked roads can also be reported to the town's public safety general dispatch number at 203-622-8004.
