The Rummage Room Hosts 'Grand Reopening' Tuesday
Operated by the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, The Rummage Room is located on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich.
GREENWICH, CT — The First Congregational Church of Greenwich this week announced it is reopening The Rummage Room with a Grand Reopening event tomorrow, September 5, at 10 a.m.
Located at 191 Sound Beach Ave. in Old Greenwich, the store specializes in reselling donated goods, and donating the proceeds to charity. The entire store has been recently restocked with "new" merchandise, and 50 percent of the sales from Tuesday will go to the Red Cross to aid the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
"Be the first to purchase goods of all kinds at bargain prices," said organizers in a statement.

Store hours are: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., closed Sundays (203-637-1875).

During the past 53 years the Rummage Room has donated more than 4 million dollars to local, national and world wide benevolent organizations. Donations will be accepted beginning the following day, September 6. The store is operated by Leanne Meyer, manager, three assistant managers and over fifty volunteers from the church and community. In addition to being known for bargains galore, the Rummage Room has won numerous awards for the creative window displays and is commonly known as the “best kept secret” in Fairfield County!
