Second Person Charged In Near-Fatal Overdose Case: Greenwich PD
Police said a man is accused of selling drugs to a Greenwich resident, which resulted in a near-fatal overdose.

GREENWICH, CT — A second person has been accused of providing drugs to a Greenwich resident who overdosed and nearly died earlier this year, according to police. Bridgeport resident Donnie James, 43, was arrested by warrant Monday at Stamford Superior Court, police said.
James was charged with second-degree assault, sale of narcotics and conspiracy, and was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
On June 15, officers were called to a Josephine Evaristo Avenue house, where they found an unresponsive woman in a bathtub, police said last week.

Officers gave the woman two doses of naloxone, and she was taken to a hospital, where she eventually recovered and was later released.
Detectives from the department's narcotics section determined that two people sold and administered the drugs to the woman and obtained arrest warrants for both suspects, police said.
Norwalk resident Ryan Ramsey, 33, was arrested Sept. 2 on similar charges.
"Both James and Ramsey were involved in the sale, delivery and administration of drugs which resulted in the near-fatal overdose of the victim," police said in a statement. "Greenwich Police continue to focus special attention on those who sell or distribute illegal drugs within our community. We urge individuals, or the families of individuals, suffering from drug addiction to seek help."
