Several Ceremonies Planned In Greenwich For Vietnam Veterans Day
March 29 is Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day.
GREENWICH, CT — March 29 is Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day, and there are several ceremonies planned in Greenwich to honor those who served.
At 9 a.m., there will be an observance at the war memorial on Greenwich Avenue. Later at 9:30 a.m., an observance will take place at Eugene Morlot Memorial Park in Byram by the tree grove dedicated to town residents who lost their lives in service of their country.
At 10 a.m., there will be an observance at the Glenille war memorial near the firehouse. Afterwards, a gathering is planned at the American Legion post 29 headquarters.

"This is a chance for all of us to pay tribute to our veterans who served during Vietnam and memorialize those who lost their lives," First Selectman Fred Camillo said in his recent newsletter. "For too long, there was not proper recognition of these veterans and I am glad we were able to hold a ceremony last year to honor them with citations for their service and that I can be a part of this ceremony."
Last year, the town and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz honored Vietnam veterans with a special ceremony at the Arch Street Teen Center.
