Sharks Spotted at Tod's Point in Greenwich

The sand sharks appeared to be fully grown.

GREENWICH, CT — Two full-grown sharks were spotted along Eagle Pond on Greenwich Point Friday afternoon.

It is believed the animals were sand sharks, according to the Greenwich Time. It is not uncommon to see them in the area at any time of the year, and they were likely chasing bait fish to the pond.

Sand sharks, also known as sand tiger sharks, have an aggressive appearance but are docile and only known to attack humans if they are bothered first, according to National Geographic.
