SilverSource Raises Over $90,000 At 17th Annual Charity Golf Outing
Raising Funds For A Housing Stability Fund And A Ride to Wellness Program Supporting Older Adults In Fairfield County
On Monday, June 12th over $90,000 was raised at the 17th Annual SilverSource Charity Golf Outing. The event, held at under sunny skies at Rockrimmon Country Club, hosted 131 golfers and honored Clayton H. Fowler. Funds raised will support the SilverSource Housing Stability Fund and the SilverSource Ride to Wellness program.
In the last three years, SilverSource has prevented 350 older adults in lower Fairfield County from eviction or homelessness, and many moved to more affordable housing. The Ride To Wellness program removes the cost of transportation to medical appointments as a barrier to healthcare. This service allows riders to save money for essentials like rent, groceries and prescriptions.
“The 17th Annual SilverSource Charity Golf Outing was a tremendous success,” Said Kathleen Bordelon, SilverSource Executive Director. “While the weather was hot, it didn’t stop these generous golfers from coming out to support Fairfield County’s older adults. We’re tremendously grateful to them, our sponsors and to our honoree, it’s events like this that allow SilverSource to help the community.”

In addition to changing the building landscape throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties, Fowler is a leading advocate of affordable housing.
“We all know how difficult it is to age, and we’re all going through it,” said Fowler, who shared that his family is helping two aging parents maintain independence while providing them with care. “We’re fortunate that we can afford to provide that assistance, and we’re very grateful to SilverSource for the help they give to those who need assistance, and for helping people through the aging process.”
