Smoky Odor Descends On Greenwich Area
Greenwich residents might notice hazy skies and the scent of smoke in the air on Wednesday.

GREENWICH, CT — The smell of smoke descended into the Greenwich area Wednesday, and officials are advising residents to take precautions.
The odor, which was present in Old Greenwich at around 11 a.m., stems from a large brush fire in Great Barrington, Mass.
Greenwich police shared a Facebook post from the Fairfield Health Department which advises sensitive populations to consider reducing activity levels and shortening the amount of time spent outside.

Locally in Greenwich, some relief is on the way. According to the National Weather Service, showers are expected to move in early Thursday and into Friday. Heavy rainfall is possible.
