Snow, Sleet Monday Will Bring CT Good News: Here’s Why
The end to brutally cold temperatures is in sight.

Connecticut will have to contend with a bit more snow Monday that could cause some evening commute issues, but after that the state will warm up into the 30’s and 40’s.
The arctic blast shattered previous low temperature records Sunday. In Hartford the temperature dropped to -9, which broke the previous record of one degree set in 1912 for Jan. 7, according to the Associated Press.
If you think that is uncomfortable try going to the summit of Mount Washington. Yesterday the summit recorded a minimum temperature of -38 degrees with sustained wind of 83 mph and gusts reaching up to 115 mph, according to the Mount Washington Observatory. It tied for the second coldest place on Earth.

"The arctic air mass that has been dominating much of the eastern two-thirds of the country will begin to retreat during the next couple of days as a large high pressure system moves off the East Coast," the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center said in a statement.
NBC Meteorologist Josh Cingranelli is predicting that the state will receive a trace to two inches of snow, with some isolated areas of three inches.
Below is the forecast for Connecticut from the National Weather Service:
