Connecticut Weather: Snow To Cause Slippery Friday AM Commute
There are a whole host of advisories and special weather statements in effect, which are all timed to impact your Friday morning commute.

Friday's commute to work isn't going to be any fun and it's very possible that many schools around the state will issue a delay and some may even end up canceling. The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for all of southern Connecticut and Hartford County. A Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect for Litchfield County and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Tolland County.
No one is expected to receive a major snowfall but the issue is it will be snowing in the morning, which will make roads slippery. For areas in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties 1 to 2 inches of snow is forecast.
The weather service says the precipitation will begin as rain late tonight/early Friday but it will change over to snow early Friday and "there is a high threat for icy conditions to develop during the morning commute, resulting in hazardous driving conditions."

"A light snowfall event may result in hazardous travel conditions during the Friday morning commute," the Weather Service says concerning Southern Connecticut.
For Hartford County, the weather service says to expect "a burst of accumulating snow along with a flash freeze to impact the Friday morning rush hour." Rain will change to snow just before midnight and the snow may fall moderately for awhile producing 1 to 2 inches of snow. It's possible up to four inches of snow may accumulate here.

"Unfortunately...this burst of snow along with the flash freeze will coincide with part of the Friday morning rush hour. Motorists should be prepared for hazardous travel. The snow will come to an end by 8 am across western MA and northern CT...," the weather service says of Hartford County.
For Tolland County, the Winter Weather Advisory is for 2 to 4 inches of snow and expected slippery travel conditions Friday morning. And for Litchfield County 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected and it's possible a Winter Weather Advisory may need to be issued here, the weather service says.
"...any wet surfaces may refreeze by late tonight as much colder air works into the region, which could allow for locally slick road conditions as well," the weather service says.
