The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement for tonight, which may impact you if you're heading out soon.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Southern Connecticut for the possibility of dense fog developing tonight, which could cause difficulties if you're driving tonight.

In the statement, the weather service says, "Areas of fog will develop through the night as a warm front approaches from the south and passes to the north late. Dense fog is possible, especially along the coast, with the visibility lowering to 1/4 mile or less.

"Anyone out driving later tonight should be ready for rapid fluctuations in visibility, use low beam headlights or fog lamps when encountering fog, and allow extra braking distance in case sudden stops are needed."
