Southern Connecticut Weather: Winds Gusts Could Reach 45 MPH

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Southern Connecticut for Sunday as wind gusts may reach up to 45 mph. According to the National Weather Service, "Northwest winds will increase to 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph today. Some wind gusts could reach up to 45 mph.

With trees still partially to full foliage, these higher wind gusts could take down some tree limbs or small trees and hence may cause some power outages." There may even be some frost conditions tonight in Southern Connecticut, the weather service says.

And as for the week ahead forecast, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday look seasonal with temps in the mid 50s. It gets colder heading into the end of the week with daytime highs only in the 40s on Thursday and Friday.
