Stamford Man Seriously Injured In I-95 Rollover Crash: State Police

The crash occurred near the I-95 Exit 4 off-ramp in Greenwich around 1:30 a.m., Monday, state police said.

GREENWICH, CT — A 21-year-old Stamford man was seriously injured in a single-car crash that closed a section of Interstate-95 southbound in Greenwich early Monday morning, according to the Connecticut State Police. A 16-year-old passenger was also injured.

The crash occurred near the I-95 Exit 4 off-ramp in Greenwich around 1:30 a.m., state police said.

A preliminary investigation showed that the driver was traveling south on I-95 in an unknown lane approximately 50 feet south of Exit 4 when it exited the roadway to the right for an "unknown reason," state police said.

The car — a 2006 Infinity G35 — struck the curb beyond the right shoulder and hit a utility pole. The car rolled over and came to a rest on its roof, facing northbound in a grassy area near the right shoulder guardrail, state police said.

The driver was taken to Stamford Hospital by Greenwich Emergency Medical Services for the treatment of life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old passenger was treated for minor injuries.
