Stamford Woman Accused Of Breaking Into Cos Cob Home: Cops

The suspect also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on a separate charge.

GREENWICH, CT — A 51-year-old Stamford woman was arrested early Tuesday on criminal trespass and related charges after she allegedly broke into a Cos Cob home and startled the homeowner who called the police, according to authorities.

Carolyn Podgurski, of Ledge Terrace, allegedly smashed a window to break into the home at about 2 a.m. and was found standing in the living room by the homeowner. Podgurski, who is considered not welcome in the home, left and was picked up by police on East Putnam Avenue, according to Greenwich police.

She was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. While in police custody, officers discovered that there was an active warrant for Podgurski's arrest for failure to appear in court on separate charges.
