Summer Series of Greenwich Neighborhood Tours Celebrating the Town's 375th Anniversary

Reservations are needed for the tours that sell out quickly; A tour of Stanwich/Bankville neighborhoods is planned for this weekend.

Celebrating Greenwich’s 375th Anniversary of the town in 1640, the Neighborhood Tours Committee of the 375th series of neighborhood history tours continues this weekend.

As part of the year-long celebration, the tours are as unique as the neighborhoods they represent. Old Greenwich, Pemberwick/Glenville and last weekend, Riverside, were sold out almost before the reservation desk opened for business.

This Saturday, June 13, the historic Stanwich/Banksville tour will allow tour participants to experience the growth and changes from the early 18th century to today along the original Stanwich Road route of the stagecoach up to the former Stanwich Church and Inn. Learn about the reason for its creation and the quirky changes made through the years along the road to make it such an interesting trip today.
