Support for Tina Courpas

Tina Courpas is a common-sense, moderate Republican

Dear Editor,

Tina Courpas is a common-sense, moderate republican; she is also very interested in the welfare of Connecticut.

Tina is often seen at community functions talking with residents and listening.

She has been on several committees in Hartford. Tina worked on committees reducing taxes, defending local zoning control, helping with the special education complexities, and expanding the education budget. She was dedicated to bringing back balance by working across the aisle locally and with the national government.

Some Connecticut voters voted for the HB 5001 Bill of No Excuse Absentee Balloting. Nov 2024, but there were not enough good safeguards.

The legislature did not put more safeguards in recently. Tina, who voted no, knew Connecticut does not require an absentee ballot signature on the application to match the signature on the voter registration or on the absentee ballot itself.

These few things, along with others, such as no proof-of-citizenship requirements and Connecticut is tied for the worst place in securing absentee ballots, all worry me!

I like that Tina Courpas did not vote for HB 5001.

Since there is no license shown for voting, real proof of citizenship, or matching signature on the absentee ballots and the applications for the ballots, how can this be legal?

Tina needs to be voted back into office to ensure continuing balance in Hartford and helping to make life more affordable for Connecticut residents.

She will continue working on bringing down expenses in most everyday items, as well as education and housing, and to help ensure legal, fair, secure elections, which would help make sure that our votes count and that no non-citizens or extra voting can occur to knock out our votes.

Please help save Connecticut as a viable place to live and function by voting for Tina Courpas.
