Suspect Tried To Scam iPhones From Greenwich Apple Store: Police
The incident occurred at the Greenwich Avenue store on Jan. 8.

GREENWICH, CT — A 25-year-old Bronx, NY man was arrested on identity theft and attempted larceny charges on Jan. 8 after he allegedly tried to buy two iPhone X's from the Greenwich Avenue Apple Store using a fake account, according to Greenwich police.
The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. when store staff contacted Greenwich police to report an attempted fraudulent purchase of the two cell phones, which retailed for more than $1,400.
According to Lt. David Nemecek, Brandon Prensa allegedly had tried to buy the phones "by utilizing personal identifying information of another subject whom held an account with Verizon Wireless."

Prensa allegedly traveled to Greenwich expressly to commit the crime, according to authorities.
He was held in lieu of bail of $2,500 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 22.
