Suspected Catalytic Converter Thieves Chased Into Greenwich: Police
Port Chester, N.Y. police chased suspected catalytic converter thieves into Greenwich, where one man was arrested, police said.

GREENWICH, CT — A chase of suspected catalytic converter thieves in Port Chester, NY, ended in Greenwich early Saturday morning, and resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old Hartford man, police said.
Daniel Angol was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, and given a $10,000 bond which he was unable to post, according to his arrest report.
A resident on Poningo Street in Port Chester called police on June 4 after noticing signs of catalytic converter thieves. While police were responding to the call, a car was spotted leaving the area, police said.

The driver of the suspect vehicle refused to pull over for police and led cops on a short pursuit onto Byram Road in Greenwich, police said.
The car crashed into a fence on Frontage Road, Lt. Martin O'Reilly of the Greenwich Police Department said, and two occupants of the car fled on foot.

One of the suspects, later identified as Angol, was found hiding in a nearby garage by officers using a tracking dog, O'Reilly said.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
