Suspected Greenwich Drug Dealer Busted, Cocaine Seized By Police
The suspect was arrested following a "lengthy investigation" into local drug dealing, according to Greenwich police.
GREENWICH, CT — Following what Greenwich police called a "lengthy investigation," members of the department's Narcotic Section Monday night arrested a suspected local drug dealer and seized 20 grams of cocaine and cash, announced Lt. John Slusarz.
Arrested on a host of narcotics charges was 42-year-old Ahmed I. Sambo, of Armstrong Court, after officers searched his home and vehicle.
"Among the items seized was approximately 20 grams of suspected cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and numerous items associated with the weighing, concealing, storage, and packaging of narcotics for sale," Slusarz stated. "In addition, $7,000.00 in cash was seized."

Roughly 5 grams of cocaine was found in Sambo's vehicle, according to police, and about 15 grams was found in his home.
Sambo was charged with the following:- Operation of a Drug Factory (CGS 21a-277(c))
- Sale/Possession of Narcotics within 1500 feet of a school (CGS 21a-278ab)
- Possession of Narcotics with intent to sell (21a-278(b))
- Illegal Possession of Narcotics (21a-279a)
- Possession of Marijuana greater than 1⁄2 Ounce (21a-279(a)(1))
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (21a-267a)
He was held in lieu of bail of $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on March 19.

"Greenwich Police continue to focus enforcement efforts on those who sell and deal drugs within our community," Slusarz said. "We also partner with other stakeholders in the community to collaboratively address the crisis of drug addiction through education, access to treatment options, and advocacy.
