Frigid temperatures are expected to remain in the area into early January.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich health officials are warning Greenwich residents to take precautions over the next week as extremely cold temperatures are expected to remain in the region into January. The health department has released tips to help get you through the cold weather.
"Extreme weather conditions are classified as near freezing or below freezing temperatures," writes the department. "Exposure to these weather conditions, whether indoors or outside, can cause serious or life threatening health emergencies. Although anyone can be affected by the cold, infants, children, the elderly and those with medical conditions are particularly at risk."
