Taxi Driver Arrested After Dispute Over Cab Fare: Greenwich PD
Police said a warrant was issued for the taxi driver's arrest after he got into a dispute with a customer over the cost of a ride.

GREENWICH, CT — A dispute over the cost of cab fare led to a Greenwich taxi driver's arrest on Sunday, according to police. On Jan. 30, police investigated a report of a disorderly person in the central area of town.
According to a statement from police, some customers reported they had taken a taxi from a local train station to their residence. When they arrived at their home, they got into a dispute with the taxi driver, Fernando Arenas, 65, of Greenwich, over the cost of the ride, police said.
Arenas then locked the doors of the cab and transported the customers back to central Greenwich, police said.

A warrant was subsequently issued for Arenas' arrest on Feb. 18. On Sunday, the accused voluntarily turned himself in at the Greenwich Police Department, police said.
Arenas was charged with second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.
