Teen Girl Assaulted In Fight At Byram Park: Greenwich Police

Police said the assault was recorded on video and shared on social media.

GREENWICH, CT — Police announced Wednesday they are investigating a fight at Byram Park in which a teen girl was assaulted.

According to Capt. John Slusarz of the Greenwich Police Department, officers responded to Byram Park at 8:25 p.m. on April 9 on a report of a large group of juveniles and young adults who gathered after hours.

As the group was being disbursed, Slusarz said, officers found a teenage girl who had been assaulted. The girl was taken to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, Slusarz said.

Officers quickly learned the assault was recorded on video and distributed on social media, Slusarz added.

Detectives from the GPD's Community Impact Section are currently working to identify suspects.

Police did not specify how many people were involved, or what led to the reported assault.
