Teen Wrecks Stolen Vehicle, Gets Arrested: Greenwich Police

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Sept. 6.

GREENWICH, CT — A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested on first-degree larceny and other charges on the afternoon of Sept. 6 after he crashed a stolen vehicle on Harding Road in Old Greenwich and tried to run away, according to Greenwich police.

The incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. when police were called to the scene on a report of crash in which the operator of the vehicle fled on foot.

Officers found the juvenile, whose identity was not disclosed because of his age, a short while later. Greenwich police said he admitted that he had been driving the vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Stamford, and that he lacked a driver's license.

In addition to larceny, the juvenile was also charged with evading responsibility, failure to drive in a proper lane, and driving without a license. He was released on a promise to appear in juvenile court in Stamford on Sept. 19.
