Teenagers Caught Breaking Into Vehicles: Greenwich PD

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of May 21.

GREENWICH, CT — An 18-year-old Stamford man was arrested early Monday morning in the Milbrook section after he and two juveniles were caught breaking into several vehicles, according to Greenwich police.

Arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, risk of injury to a child and conspiracy was Ivan L. Rodriguez, of Warren Street.

While patrolling at about 4:30 a.m. in a private area on Mallard Drive, a Greenwich police officer spotted Rodriguez and the two juveniles at a property where he knew they did not belong.

"They were found in possession of stolen property and [Rodriguez] stated that they had entered multiple vehicles and stolen property from within," wrote Greenwich police in a statement.

Rodriguez was released after posting bond on bail of $1,000 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 4. The fate of the two juveniles was not disclosed.

In recent months, Greenwich has been one of several Fairfield County communities which have grappled with a significant number of vehicle break-ins and thefts, according to officials.
