Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
These two ladies decided they wanted to support the front lines workers at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The initial idea was small: raise money to pay for care packages for the support staff at HSS.
With one simple text and a Facebook post, they found an outpouring of support for their cause. They raised over $36,000 in seven days for the care packages.
That was clearly too much money for just care packages, so the excess funds are going to the HSS Employee Assistance Fund which, among other services, provides mental health counseling for the staff.
They then organized their friends into an assembly line to stuff 2,000 care packages. The group was dubbed the "HSS Angels" by the hospital, and Lois and Christa are its fearless leaders.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
They both have huge hearts.
