GREENWICH, CT — On May 26, Greenwich Green & Clean will provide an opportunity to tour Sleepy Cat Farm, which is a treasure in the center of Greenwich.

Sleepy Cat Farm is a 13 acre garden in the Backcountry, encompassing many different plant environments and garden styles. The mission of Sleepy Cat Farm is to instill public awareness of horticulture, landscape architecture and the value of plants.

The landscape unfolds in a series of garden "rooms" encompassing pavilions, pathways, pools, statuary, stairs, trees, shrubs and flowers everywhere. Hillsides and vistas change daily, monthly, almost minute by minute in this undulating landscape of surprises, intrigue and unexpected beauty.

  • Parking at Round Hill Community Church with shuttle bus to drop you off at the farm.
  • Arrive at RHCC any time between 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day.
  • Wear walking shoes. There are steps and stone walks to maneuver.
  • Bathrooms and water stations will be available.
  • Horticultural professionals will be on site to answer questions.
  • Cameras are allowed.
  • Rain Date: Friday, May 27, check the Greenwich Green & Clean website.

"Since 1986, we have been committed to improving the environment of our Town including public/private partnership relationships. We encourage businesses and individuals to beautify our community and environmental practices such as recycling and the removal of invasive vines," Greenwich Green and Clean said in a news release. "Sharing the Sleepy Cat Farm with the public is a privilege for us. We hope you can participate and come away inspired."
