Vandal Smashes Car With Mailbox In Byram, Cops Say

The incident occurred sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

GREENWICH, CT — Police are investigating an act of vandalism over the weekend in which a car door was smashed with a mailbox that someone yanked out of the ground, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at a home on Spruce Street in Byram sometime during the overnight hours between Sept. 15 and 16.

According to police, the mailbox was pulled out of the ground and then used to bash in the rear driver's side door.

The owner of the 2010 Nissan Sentra that was damaged reported it on Sunday, and police quickly discounted that the vehicle hit the mailbox, because the mailbox was behind some hedges that had not been disturbed.
