Vehicle Catches Fire In Greenwich: FD

GREENWICH, CT — The cause of a vehicle fire that broke out in an unoccupied SUV parked in Greenwich last week is under investigation, according to fire officials.

Deputy Chief Shawn Morris said the blaze was reported Thursday, around 6:30 p.m., on Palmer Hill Road. Firefighters were called to the area and used a hose line to extinguish the fire, Morris said in an email to Patch.

No injuries were reported and the fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the blaze, Morris said. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Photos of the fire were posted on the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Facebook page, in which the vehicle appears to have sustained heavy front end damage.
