Volunteers Needed For Upcoming Greenwich Packathon

The event is scheduled for Oct. 16 from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside Christ Church Greenwich's Parish Hall.

GREENWICH, CT — Christ Church Greenwich is organizing a meal packathon event to help feed children, families and people who are food insecure, and volunteers are needed.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 16 from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside Christ Church Greenwich's Parish Hall at 254 E. Putnam Ave. Volunteers will work in teams to assemble nutritious ingredients, weigh the packages, seal them and box them for distribution.

The packathon will benefit people served by Neighbor to Neighbor and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. All ages are welcome to help.

Christ Church Greenwich has held successful packathons in the past. Recently, 250 volunteers came from around the tri-state area to pack 36,000 meals for Ukrainian refugees on the border of Poland.
