What's On The Minds Of Greenwich Kids? New Survey Will Tell

Students were asked "about their sources of strength, support and engagement with risky behaviors."

GREENWICH, CT — The town is about to learn what's on the minds of Greenwich middle and high schoolers when the results of a new survey by the Greenwich Prevention Council are released next week.

"The survey and the Greenwich Prevention Council were borne from my initiative with Liberation Programs and the Greenwich Department of Human Services two years ago," First Selectman Peter Tesei told Patch this week, adding that the town has been at the forefront in confronting the opioid crisis, which one thing that has dramatically impacted the young generations.

Students were asked "about their sources of strength, support and engagement with risky behaviors," and the survey results will be presented during a panel discussion from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Greenwich YWCA at 259 East Putnam Ave. in Greenwich.

"It is my hope that the survey will provide the Prevention Council and various community agencies, an understanding of the cause of this and other problems facing our youths and provide a basis for developing both short- and long-term solutions to stem this insidious scourge," Tesei said.
