Wheel, Tire Thieves Strike Greenwich Dealership

The wheels and tires from six cars were reported stolen from Greenwich Acura.

 

The wheels and tires for six Acuras were reported stolen early Tuesday by Greenwich Acura, the dealership located on West Putnam Avenue.

According to Greenwich Police, the six sets of wheels and tires apparently were stolen from the cars parked in a fenced-in area at the dealership at 343 W. Putnam Ave. The theft was reported just after 7 a.m. March 26. There wasn't a value placed on the missing car parts.

Police would not say how the wheel and tire thieves were able to access a fenced-in area where the cars were stored.

This week's theft is another in a series of wheel and tire, and car part thefts police are investigating. There were three car part thefts reported in a three-month span at the Greenwich Gables condominium complex in Old Greenwich more than a year ago.

Last November, just days after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the region, four residents of the Putnam Hill cooperative on Milbank Avenue reported car parts and wheels and tires stolen from their high-end vehicles—Infinities and Hondas.
