Woman Arrested In 2016 Shopping Lifting Case: Greenwich Police
She allegedly stole high-end handbags from a Greenwich Avenue store.

GREENWICH, CT — A 30-year-old North Bergen, NJ woman was arrested on a warrant charging her with first-degree larceny, risk of injury to a child and a host of other violations in connection with a 2016 shoplifting incident at the Greenwich Avenue Saks Fifth Avenue, according to Greenwich police.
Rosetta Armstead and an unnamed female accomplice allegedly stole several high-end handbags from the store at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2016, and fled in a car before police arrived.
While fleeing the scene, the two nearly struck a Greenwich police officer who tried to stop them while the officer was directing traffic on Greenwich Avenue at Elm Street.

The two were not caught at the time, but a subsequent investigation led to Armstead being identified as a suspect, and Greenwich police obtained a warrant for her arrest.
She was apprehended recently in New Jersey and was extradited to Greenwich on Wednesday.

Greenwich police charged her with the following:
- First-degree larceny
- Second-degree criminal mischief
- Second-degree reckless endangerment
- Disobeying the signal of an officer
- Failure to obey a stop sign
- Conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny
- Interfering with an officer
- Risk of injury to a child
She was released after posting a $75,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 18.
