Woman Charged In Greenwich Fitness Center Burglary: PD

GREENWICH, CT — A Stamford woman accused of breaking into a Greenwich fitness center and taking some items was arrested Monday, police said. According to an arrest report, officers were investigating the reported burglary and "developed information that [Shawana Smith, 47, of Stamford] was responsible."

Officers subsequently located the accused, who had several items from the fitness center in her possession, police said. According to Lt. John Slusarz, the building is currently undergoing renovations.

The accused was charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and criminal trespass.
