Woman Leaves 2-Year-Old Alone, Charged With DUI: Greenwich PD
Police said a Shelton woman, 22, who got into a crash in Greenwich is accused of leaving a 2-year-old child alone at a local residence.

GREENWICH, CT — A 22-year-old Shelton woman is accused of driving while impaired in Greenwich and leaving a 2-year-old child alone at a local residence, according to police. On Oct. 27, Ana Dewitt was involved in a crash on Pemberwick Road, police said.
Dewitt was injured in the crash and taken to a hospital for treatment. Her injuries were non-life threatening, police said.
"During the course of the subsequent investigation, it was learned that a 2-year-old child was supposed to be in her care," police said in a statement. "The child was located, alone but unharmed, at a local residence."

Police later obtained a warrant for Dewitt's arrest. She turned herself in at police headquarters Friday evening on charges of risk of injury to a child, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane and failure to wear a seatbelt.
