Wreaths Across America Ceremony Upcoming In Greenwich

The public is invited to attend the ceremony on Dec. 14.

GREENWICH, CT — The Horseneck Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its annual Wreaths Across America ceremony on Dec. 14, and the public is invited to attend.

The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Old Burying Ground on Byram Shore Road. Each December, wreaths are placed at gravesites around the country and abroad to honor fallen veterans and those who serve. The day serves as a way to teach the next generation the value of freedom and those who protect it.

According to First Selectman Fred Camilo's recent community newsletter, the graves of two soldiers from the Revolutionary War - Sgt. Daniel Lyon and Private Daniel Sherwood - are located at the Old Burying Ground.
