5 Groton Bars Fail Liquor Compliance Check: Police

Police said the inspections were to determine compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol to people under 21 years old.

GROTON, CT — Five establishments failed a recent liquor compliance inspection check, according to police. Groton officers and a Ledge Light Health District representative conducted the unannounced liquor compliance inspections June 1.

Police said the inspections were to determine compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of alcohol to people under 21 years old.

Police conducted inspections of 10 establishments. The five that allegedly failed the compliance check were:

  • The Hop Yard, 924 Route 12 in Groton
  • Sneekers Cage, 568 Poquonnock Road in Groton
  • The Harp and Hound 4 Pearl St. in Mystic
  • Chapter One Food and Drink, 32 W. Main St.
  • Captain Daniel Packer Inn, 32 Water St. in Mystic

Police provided the results of the inspection to the Ledge Light District. The State's Liquor Control Commission will review the cases for further action.
