They were placed under arrest in Groton after an investigation into the sale of tainted heroin, within southeastern Connecticut, police said.

Seized during this investigation was 500 bags of heroin packaged for sale, that tested positive for the presumptive presence of fentanyl; which has been reported to be the cause of recent overdoses in the region, police said.

On July 1 at approximately 3 p.m. Task Force Officers approached the car that Concordia was operating and Cabanban was the passenger, while the car was parked at a business on Gold Star Highway, police said.

Upon seeing the Task Force Officers, Concordia attempted to put the vehicle in reverse and flee the area, police said in a news release.

Cabanban refused to comply with requests of the Task Force Officers and struggled with them, police said.

Both Concordia and Cabanban were subdued. Officers then discovered the illicit drug packaged to be sold in packs of ten totaling 500 bags, police said.

Both are being held on $ 250,000.00 bond.
