Accused Groton Shooter Caught in Canada Issued Removal Order

He will be arraigned in court after returning to Connecticut.

GROTON, CT - An accused Groton killer caught at the Canadian border this week has been ordered “removed” by immigration officials, The Day reported.

Dante A. Hughes faces charges for the murder of Joey Gingerella outside Ryan’s Pub in Groton, according to The Day. He was found Tuesday trying to enter Canada, and has since been detained there by immigration officials.

The suspect appeared before the Immigration and Refugee Board on Wednesday and issued a removal order, The Day reported. He will be arraigned in court after returning to Connecticut.
