Accused Groton Shooter Returned to Connecticut from Canada: Report

Police are still investigating the situation.

GROTON, CT – Police said the man accused of fatally shooting Joey Gingerella outside a pub has been returned to Connecticut, The Day reported.

Dante Hughes, 30, was found on December 13 after attempting to cross the Canadian border, according to The Day. He was detained by Canadian officials and later issued a removal order.

The suspect is charged with the fatal shooting of Gingerella outside Ryan’s Pub in Groton on December 11, The Day reported. He was returned to Connecticut on Wednesday and will be presented for arraignment on murder charges at New London Superior Court on Thursday.
