Suspect Trying To Steal Dirt Bikes Fired Gunshot At Resident, Groton Police Say (patch.com) — Groton police are investigating after a Knoxville Court resident interrupted a suspect allegedly trying to steal dirt bikes from a shed late Monday night. As the suspect fled, he reportedly fired a gunshot toward the resident but missed, and no injuries were reported. Authorities are still searching for the suspect and asking anyone with information to contact Groton Town Police.
2. 'Beautifully Renovated' 3-BR Hits The Market In 'Desirable' Groton Neighborhood (patch.com) — Homebuyers in Groton can now tour a renovated three-bedroom Colonial at 87 Colony Road in the desirable Mumford Cove neighborhood. Listed at $1,175,000, the house offers 2,292 square feet, including an updated eat-in kitchen with granite countertops, farmhouse sink, and sunroom that flows into the dining area. The property is pitched as ideal for both everyday living and entertaining in a sought-after coastal community.
3. New London police: Murder suspect caught on video fleeing scene (theday.com) — A man already charged in a December 2025 shooting outside Branford Manor in Groton is now also charged in a fatal February shooting in New London. Newly unsealed records describe video evidence, recovered shell casings and cooperation between New London and Groton City police. The suspect remains jailed on high bond while the investigation, including possible connections, continues.
4. Construction starting on massive EB warehouse in North Stonington. (theday.com) — Electric Boat is building a massive new warehouse in nearby North Stonington to free up space and speed submarine production at its Groton shipyard. The 480,000-square-foot facility will centralize parts storage and distribution to Groton and Quonset Point, boosting regional jobs and tax revenue while preserving conservation land along the Shunock River.
