• Walmart To Remodel Groton Store, 9 Others In CT (patch.com) — Shoppers in Groton will see a freshly remodeled Walmart on Gold Star Highway, featuring upgraded layouts, technology, and faster delivery options, including pharmacy delivery for Walmart+ members. The Poquonnock Bridge Professional Firefighters highlighted the grand opening and Walmart’s donation, while nine other Connecticut locations are also slated for similar upgrades as part of a nationwide modernization push.    

• GDMS Secures $66M Navy DARTS Contract (executivebiz.com) — Most of the Navy’s new $66.2 million DARTS submarine-testing contract will be carried out in Groton, bringing years of high-tech defense work to the local shipbuilding community. General Dynamics Mission Systems will handle about 80% of the project here through 2031, supporting Virginia- and Columbia-class submarines and reinforcing Groton’s central role in undersea warfare development.    

• Osier's gem sends MCC to district championship (13wham.com) — A dominant pitching performance in Groton saw Monroe Community College shut out UConn-Avery Point 4–0 to sweep their NJCAA playoff series. Starter Connor Osier struck out 15 over eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and carrying MCC into next weekend’s Division II East District championship. The game showcased high-level junior college baseball action on UConn-Avery Point’s home turf.
