Woman Pulled Gun, Released Pit Bull In Armed Confrontation, Groton Police Say (patch.com) — Residents in Groton are learning more about a tense weekend confrontation on Poquonnock Road, where police say a woman blocked another car, released a large pit bull, and pointed a handgun while making threats. Officers later arrested 30-year-old Groton resident Latazia Wheeler at her home, seizing a handgun and charging her with multiple offenses, including first-degree threatening with a firearm and assault on a public safety officer.

EB seeking approval for first conversion projects at former Crystal Mall (theday.com) — Electric Boat’s plan to convert parts of the former Crystal Mall into training and office space in Waterford is designed to free up room at its space-constrained Groton shipyard so it can focus more on submarine construction. The project could eventually bring up to 5,000 workers to the Route 85 site, with major traffic changes and extensive training facilities planned starting in 2027.
