2-Car Crash Involving Utility Pole Reported In Groton

GROTON, CT — A two-car crash involving a utility pole occurred early Saturday morning in Groton.

The accident was reported shortly after 3 a.m. near the intersection of North and Meridian streets, according to City of Groton police.

One person was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Two other people refused medical treatment.

Two others fled the scene of the accident on foot, according to a firefighters union post.

Traffic signals at the intersection weren't functioning, and the road was blocked in the aftermath of the accident, police said.
