GROTON, CT — Groton Public Schools announced Wednesday all eight schools will offer free breakfast to every student each school day for the 2026–2027 academic year.
According to the Groton Public Schools Food Services & Farm to School Facebook page, students who qualify for reduced-price meals will also receive both breakfast and lunch at no cost.
Families are encouraged to complete a free and reduced meal application, district officials said.
Additionally, all students at the following four schools will receive free breakfast and lunch through the Community Eligibility Provision, according to the district:
"Even if your child attends one of these four schools, we still encourage all families to complete a free and reduced meal application," the district's post reads. "The information collected can help Groton Public Schools qualify for additional resources and benefits for students."
Any family whose child receives a direct certification letter does not need to complete an application, according to the district.
District officials also noted the 2026–2027 free and reduced meal application is now available online through SchoolCafe.
The application "is quick, easy, confidential and available in English and Spanish," according to the district.
