β’ Groton Pier Project Gets $3.5 Million In State Funding (patch.com) β Groton residents can look forward to a fully rebuilt Griswold Pier after the city secured $3.5 million in state funding to demolish and reconstruct the aging structure. City leaders say the project will restore safe public access to the Thames River and Long Island Sound for fishing, picnicking, and gathering, with work expected to start within six months and finish by October 2028.

β’ City of Groton activates automated speed enforcement cameras (wtnh.com) β Drivers in Groton should be aware that three automated speed cameras are now active on Mitchell Street, Thames Street, and Clarence B. Sharp Highway, with a 30-day warning period underway. Police say the cameras will help manage heavy commuter traffic tied to Electric Boat, Pfizer, and UConn Avery Point, and they're urging motorists to slow down and watch for pedestrians and cyclists.
